Do Canon usually make cashback available as soon as they release a camera or do they wait a while?

I'm wanting to order a canon 100mm macro lens and I cant decide whether to order it now or wait until I have bought the 40D and see what cashback deals are available.

what would you recommend that I do? Buy now or wait?

Hi,

think the cashback deals are finished just now, it was only £10 back on this lens, just email/pm Kerso on these forums for a price as he will be about the cheapest available.

Also MPB Photographic have one for £269 plus P+P but it's used with a 6 month warranty, Kerso's will be brand new and full warranty, not worth waiting for cashback deal to come back just to save a tenner.

Prices I've found:

Via Camerpricebuster - £344 plus P+P ( Jersey based so might be taxes - it's £348 elsewhere from within UK ).

MPB Photographic - £269 plus £7 P+P

PM Kerso for a Price - I was £280 for my dad's one but I was able to collect it.

Thanks for that.

I've just realised that my car tax is due at the end of this week as well as having course fees to pay tomorrow.

I might hang on for a month anyway as I don't need it right now (It was always a want rather than a need).
