I got my cheque today any one else got theres yet. Its only been a few weeks well done Canon..:woot:

I got a email from Canon last week saying they are processing my cashback. Should be in my account within 2 weeks I think, turnover time is really good. I have heard that Nikon are took their time with theirs.

I got one today too.

How do you go about getting the cashback? Ive got a lens coming soon :D

Do I need to order a voucher book from Canon?

You go on the website, fill in a form. cut the barcode from your box and send it all in!

Got mine back end of last week its in the bank just waiting to be spent only took a couple of weeks :woot:
Bob:thumbs:

Ah right, cheers Janice, just found that on the website.

I was going to fill it in, ready to send when I get the lens, then it asked for the serial number, grrrrr, it looks like I'll have to wait.

Sent mine off 3 months ago. Did get a letter to say they had a lot to send out and mine would be a little while. Think I need to contact them now though.

No need to rush... it takes a few weeks so the odd day or two isnt an issue! You just want to show you wife the cheque before she sees the credit card bill!!!

My application is still in the out tray, before I send it off have the rest of you just sent it ordinary post, recorded delivery, or RM special delivery. I was going to send it by ordinary post after making a photocopy of everything including the barcode. I am entitled to £70. The last time I applied I sent it via special delivery but does that not cost over £5 now.
It is my decision yes, but I am just having one of those indecisive moments just now.

Mine arrived 2 weeks after posting (1st class letter) the form off

Mine's been paid and sent straight back to my credit card from whence the lens money came :D

I've still got mine to send off.

Have you just cut the box and sent that off? I have all of my reciepts photocopied and the claims form printed so i guess thats it.

Is it best to send it recorded mail or shall i just chance royal mail? I just don't fancy it going missing. :(

Wow that was quick Marcel, hope mines as quick as my bank balance could do with a £70 hit right now :)

It is now 12 days since I sent mine off for my £70, and I have never had an email confirmation yet:shrug:
Reckon it is late:thinking:

I'd give Canon a ring. I would have thought you should have heard something by now.

I only sent it standard 1st class :( sent the last one special delivery, maybe it is because of an increase in sales. Give them a ring anyway.

Just had a look on their site and I might have guessed it would be an 0870 no.:annoyed:

I got a dodgy email with no title which had loads of strange characters in it (Like a MIME encoded attachment looks).....I only noticed it was from "cashbackstatus@canon.co.uk" or something like that.

BTW I sent mine airmail (southern ireland isnt it)

Update.
I gave them a call this morning via tel no.0080022666767, was given a reference no. and redirected to the Canon promotions help desk tel no. 08450848978. I gave all my details and was informed there was still time due to the volume of claims and that if I had not received my confirmation email by Wednesday or Thursday I had to contact them.
I posted mine on Sat 17th but would not have been collected until the 19th so based on the present volume of claims up to 15 days should be allowed for the email confirming receipt of cashback claim.

Which barcode is it? Is it the one with the little bin on they are after or the one with the two barcodes on the same sticker? Did anyone just try and peel the barcode off, or am i best off just to cut the box?

Cheers. :)

Just to put my mind at rest, if its bought before New Years Eve 2007 then its eligible for cashback?

It's the one that has the Ser No. of the camera / lens / whatever on it (not the one with the wheelie bin on it) and yes, you can simply peel the label off rather than cut the box - at least that's what I did and I've had the confirmation email from Canon.

Steve, how long after it was posted did you get the confirmation email.

Mal.

Mal,

I posted it on the 14th November and 1 received a notification email on the 21st. Interestingly, I just happened to take it into a Post Office as I had other parcels which required weighing. The lady behind the counter noticed that my letter to Canon was going to Tipperary in southern Ireland and as such would require more postage than the 1st class stamp I had already put on it (I think it was an additional 50p or there abouts). I do wonder if letters sent from the UK with just a 1st class stamp on them would be rejected by Canon as they would be required to pay any excess postage charge.

That's how I read it. The claim form must also be posted to Canon by the 15th Feb 2008.

Mmmm I only stuck a 1st class stamp on mine:(

Ah.... in that case it might be worth ringing Canon and asking them what they do in cases like that. I know we had a card put through the door the other day saying that a letter was being held at our local PO because it required and addition 6p postage. The punch line was however that if I wanted it I'd have to go to collect it but it would cost me £1.06 as a £1 handling charge had been added! I assume something similar would happen with any post sent under stamped to Canon (but on a much larger scale of course).
