I was given a lot of help recently about trying to get a Canon 3000v and Canon 1000F to work with Sigma lenses Sigma DL 35-80 and Sigma UC 70-210I continue to experience problems and can only get results by taking on the A-DEP setting and turning the camera off after each shot. Not ideal.
I was kindly loaned a Canon lens and that works but these are expensive.
Does anyone know of a camera which will match the lenses or should I scrap the lot and go Digital.
I would be grateful for any ideas however strange they seem.
Thanks ujjwaldey the lens is on its way back to you.

Hi

I have a Sigma 70-210 UC lens, works with my Canon EOS1000, and EOS100, also my EOS D60, works with all settings including the dreaded green square, whereabouts are you, depending on where you are, you could maybe try my lens on your bodies.

Dave.

Thanks dizidav will try the lenses on the older camera again, must admit I have concentrated my efforts on the 3000 with it being newer. Prefer the older black body anyway. I am in Notts so a bit far but thanks for the offer. I am determined to crack this so I can continue to use film.

well - the Sigma I mentioned in the original thread worked fine on a EOS-5 (1992 design) but was having none with the EOS-3 (1998 design) - I'd suggest working out how old the Sigma lens you have is, and getting a body from at or before that date... if you have a look on the Canon Camera Museum, you can find the design dates of the different models.

The fact that it works with my genuine EF lens shows its not the camera that's at problem - I'd put money on it being the pith-poor reverse engineering job that sigma did on their EF mount and logic.
