Canon 860is focus fault

I've just purchased a 2nd hand 860is and a couple of quick shots show there is a serious focus issue with only a small part of the image in focus the rest getting more blurred as you get to the edge of the image.

It was sold as a spares or repair so was cheap.

Just wondered if this was a known issue with an easy fix?

A quick Google shows a few issues with the lenses of 860's sticking open, or reporting an error on the camera, but nothing like what you described.

You could look-out for another cheap 860, with a different fault, and use the parts from both to make one good camera...

I think I have one of these in bits, in a draw in my room, it had a broken LCD and I took it apart and can't remember why I didn't put it back together. Everything else was fine on it I think. I'll have a look and see what I can find but you are welcome to it if you want to pick it up from London/Essex or send a courier.

I took a few more shorts last night and the problem is worse when zoomed right out, if I zoom in fully it's pretty much fine.
