Edit My Images
Yes
I've downloaded the discs that I got with my camera- Picture Editor , EOS utility , Digital photo professional and Image browser ......so I took a picture to have a play with on this software .......the photo is there and I can get it up on the software but nothing is 'lit up in black' to click on , its all in grey .....why ? It wont let me do anything .....I loaded it from disc and put the hole lot on (I didnt do the custom one )

Which program are you using where buttons are greyed out? The image browser? You've mentioned 4 different programs. Have you successfully downloaded the image from the camera to the computer?

I use Lightroom now, but previously I would have used the EOS utility to download it and then digital photo professional to edit it. (Probably having used image browser in between to decide which ones to edit.)

Yes I've uploaded from the camera and I can get the photo , I double click on EOS UTILITY and then I click on accessories and then onto picture style editor then when I click on ANY of my photo folders in library its says they're empty which they are not ......

Ok I'm not on my computer at mo but basically you use the eos utility to download them not to edit them. Picture style editor I've never used but I'm pretty sure that just changes the colours and vividness of your picture but doesn't let you, say, crop the image. I would do that in DPP or possibly image browser. ( can't remember what edit possibilities there are in image browser - I'll check later)
Eos may be saying there's nothing there because there's nothing new to download

Okay you've had me delving into places I've never been :)

It seems if you click on Accessories within EOS utility, you can then select your picture - however it will only let you select RAW files, not jpegs. My jpegs are also greyed out.

As I mentioned, this Picture Style Editor is really only to adjust the colours in the image - not to crop or align horizontals or something.

Hope that helps.

What is it that you want to change on your image exactly?

Edit: By the way - you may get more help for this sort of thing in the 'Basics' section of the forum.

Have a look on the Canon website and make sure all your software is up to date. I had all the software loaded from the disc that came with my 5D3 and I had problems accessing my files from a new 70D. I've since reinstalled the software that came with the 70D and it now works fine with both bodies.

Try loading the photo onto DPP if you're looking to have a play about with the photo, I usually use DPP for my raw files to convert them and than do all the alterations on Photoshop Elements 11.

As above, check all the software is up to date via Canon UK's site.

Download the photo via EOS Utility and make sure you save it to your PC. Open up DPP (Zoombrowser also works well - you can get this from Canon's site, not sure what edit you can do in Imagebrowser) and you should be able to get the file up and edit it...
