Canon 70-300 or Tamron 70-300

I'm looking to by a new piece of glass for my Canon 600D. Though i'm torn between a Canon EF 70-300 f/4-5.6 IS USM and a Tamron 70-300mm f4-5.6 SP Di VC USD. It will be for airshow and aviation photography so image quality and a fast autofocus speed are top priority. What one should I get?

Can vouch for the Tammy as do most reviews of the higher end 70-300 lenses.

Tamron no question.

Recently bought the Tamron 70-300 it punches well above its priceband.

Tamron, the VC is great and the lens has full time manual focus.

The Tamron gives sharp images throughout the focusing range and has fast and accurate AF. The VC is exceptional. A cracking lens!

I've also just ordered the tamron - found a mint second hand version on eBay for a reasonable price
