As above really.

These two lenses seem to come out around a similar price point but which is better?

Obviously the sigma is the faster of the 2 lenses, but how much better optically is the canon?

Which focuses faster and more accurately?

Is the extra F# worth the loss in quality?

I use Canon 70-200 and am happy with it. it's a bit limited in poor lighting conditions. Works much better on a sunny day! It does focus quickly.

at 200mm I found canon a lot sharper at f/4 than sigma at f/5.6. At 70-135 they are on a level field... In my view Canon is lighter and achieves great results consistently. f/2.8 is more exciting, but if you can't rely on it what is the point? Unless you are into soft shots and put things like crystals in front anyway... Maybe get an 85mm f/1.8 prime or 135L for special effects.
