canon 70-200 hoods.

just an interesting observation with regard to the hoods on the f/4 compared to the f/2.8. why is one petal shaped and the other not.

I wonder why the difference in shapes and not have both petal or both jsut a rounded hood.

i thought that originally but still doesnt compute, as either hood could be designed rtound that! maybe its just to tell the two lenses apart?

Looking at the size of hood on the f4 I have just bought it is huge so I must assume they are prone to lens flare.

I have only recently found the confidence to add a "big white lens" to my kit but to stick that huge hood on as well
