Hi after a bit of advise as to what to go for my budget is quite tight and got down to these two lenses i shoot quite a bit of motorsport but its quite close so 200 will be fine for what i need so the burning question is canon 70-200 f4 or sigma 70-200 2.8 either would be second hand as the budget wont go to new
Many thanks
Simon

It sounds like you will mainly be shooting outside in daylight? In that case you probably don't require the larger aperture if the sigma, and I'd recommend the canon f4

A quick search on here will bring up sooooooo many threads, this ones done to death!

Found my sigma quite soft at 2.8 from 150mm upwards, it sharpened by f5.6 but it went back to sigma 3 times, once to Japan for focus issues when I had my 7d. Wished I'd bought the Canon.

Mines pin sharp even wide open all the way.

I think there are sample variations with this lens but the mkII seems a bit more consistent.

Never used the sigma but use the 70-200 f4 non IS for sports. The focus is quiet and very fast and image quality is super. I can't fault it.
