Canon 70-200 f4 L IS and Sigma MC11 - no longer friends

I was wondering if anybody else used this combination and how you found it. When I first got the Sony and adaptor it seemed to work really well together, however of late they really don't play well, the AF is inconsistent to say the least and regularly hunts or doesn't work. I intended to keep the Canon and it is a great lens, however I am starting to think I may well switch to the native Sony version.

Any thoughts, ideas, setting suggestions are welcome.
