Canon 70-200 2.8 L IS Fault

Has anybody seen this before, the camera (Canon 5D mk1) keeps flicking between the f-stop setting and 0.0 (Canon 70/200 2.8 IS L).

Not sure if it had got some rain on it as when I took it out the camera bag when it was raining, it started doing this straight away.

Still doing it now at home in the dry and the lens is definitely dry.

Have tried another lens on the camera (24/105 & 50) and they both work fine.

Tried the lens on my wifes Canon 5D mk1 and it is still doing the same thing.

F00 normally means the camera has no lens attached so sounds like a lens to body communication issue. are the contacts on the lens clean?

I have cleaned the contacts and they look clean...........

sounds like a more deep routed issue then, if its doing the same on both bodies id say its best to send it for repair.

Had a chat with Lehmanns, but before I send I have put in the airing Cupboard for a while to ensure no moisture.
