So i've just taken the plunge and ordered the 650D (Or T4i, if you are from across the pond) and am wondering what i can expect.

So, if you own the 650d would you please drop a comment letting me know what you like/dislike and some sample shots?

Really appreciate it ;)

Hi Alex,

I've owned mine since October and so far I'm impressed with the results.

It's only limitation is the fact I'm a newbie and don't know what I'm doing just yet

Look at my posts for so examples of my efforts to date.

I'm only just getting into photography and chose the 650D as it was a relatively new model with good reviews.

I find it easy to use, menu access is easy and straight forward and the touch screen fast, but does seem to smudge easy when your taking photos using the view finder and my skin touches the screen. I have no screen protector on mine.

What lens did you get with it as I have the kit 18-55 which is good but I'm going to have to upgrade as my interests are well in excess of this lens capability for distance

Other than that I'm finding it a good first step into the DSLR world and with its easy to use functions, it makes it more enjoyable to learn

Hi, I am returning to stills photography after a 30 year gap. My teenage son has developed a keen interest, so we have just ordered a 650D and now looking at getting the necessary accessories.
Did you get a screen protector, if so, is there a particular brand that is recommended.

If you've bought it new then it will probably will have one on. I have an increasingly outdated 20D with the original screen protector on!

Mine didn't come with one, however I bought one from a certain photo shop that has just closed down and it was a 'cut to fit' one which I still haven't fitted.

They are cheap to buy anyway and no doubt you can get them from fleabay.

Got the 650D just before Christmas and really like it especially the touch screen as it make changing settings real easy. Also its light and in the right hands will take really great pictures but as i am a complete novice it is not yet getting used to its full potential.
On the faults side I really cant think of anything that make me wish i had got something else

Got my 650d last summer and have managed to grow my collection of lenses since then :) Definitely no regrets about getting that over any cheaper/older Canons or over Nikon stuffs :)

All my shots are taken with my 650d and different lenses. The crappier ones are usually the older ones as hopefully I've gotten better lol

Just bought mine over Christmas as a bit of an impulse buy.

Still a novice myself but I've spent far too much of my time at work reading various photography websites.

Got the 18-55 Kit, 50mm 1.8 and just bought a 28-135mm from a friend at work who seems to know his stuff.

Been playing with it at home and had a visit to my local track for a rally. Hoping to get out and about soon and start snapping away.

Got my 650D just before Christmas, re-discovered photography after many years away.
Got it with 18-55mm kit lens and bought a niffty fifty just after Christmas.

Started a project 365 to get to know my new toy and to see how my skills are developing.

Guys, just be very careful if you decide to put a screen protector on the 650D, with it being a capacitive touch screen, you might inadvertantly disable the touch ability. I was going to put one on the 650D and emailed Canon to find out which one they advised but the reply advised not to put any screen protecter on at all.

The screen is brilliantly responsive and well made to put up with being touched all the time. A quick wipe with a decent microfibre cloth when it's turned off and it looks as good as new.

I have a 650D with no screen protector. I just flip the screen round when I put it in its bag to protect the screen.

Lots of people use screen protectors on smartphones, doesn't stop them working. Screen on 650d is similar so don't see the issue.

I use a screen protector on my 650D without any problems. A German eBay shop does a 6-36 piece set for a few quid.
