I've seen a Canon 600mm on EBay but an answer from the seller is that the lens is 14 years old. The photos of it show it to be in good nick with few surface marks. Should I be concerned about the age of the lens?
The Funny thing there is, The IS models of the 600mm f/4 can be fixed by a guy called 'the lens doctor' give it a google it will pop up, the older version of the 600mm without IS can't be fixed. The reason I know this is because I was going to buy the 600mm and researched about the parts etc. but ended up going with a 500mm f/4 instead as I use planes & travel alot so the 600mm is too much hassle.
