Yes
Picked up a Canon 5DSR to use mainly for fireworks, and I’m running into an odd issue.

Camera is in Bulb mode, all manual settings, lens in manual focus.

The first shot fires fine, but on the second and subsequent shots I get a noticeable delay — about 0.25–0.5s of holding the shutter before the exposure actually starts. This only clears if I let the buffer finish writing. The buffer itself isn’t full, but it is still transferring.

Lens is a Sigma 12–24mm f/4.5–5.6 DG HSM.

For comparison, I tested the same workflow on my R6 Mark II, 90D, and 1100D — all of which behave as expected, letting me shoot continuously until the buffer fills.

Anyone else seen this behavior on the 5DSR?

Yes i have and it had made no change.

Long Exposure Noise Reduction turned on?
Its off a long with Lens aberration correction, Auto Lighting Optimizer, High ISO Speed Noise Reduction, Highlight Tone Priority.

The thing i dont get is that in any other mode it works as i would expected just not in Bulb.

Have you tried a factory reset?

Have you tried a really fast card?
I have tried
Lexar 1000X 128gb (UHS-I)
Kingston Canvas React Plus 128gb (UHS-II)
5Dsr only supports UHS-I SD cards

I have CF card on way as i have read that SD was a bit slow on the 5Dsr but i dont this that is the problme as it workd just find when not in Bulb mode.

Have you tried a factory reset?
Yes and rest the custom functions. also update firmwared and factory reset again.
