Canon 5d4 Shutter Count software - found at last

Thanks for posting - I was also looking for something that could read counts as well.

Looks like Russian company. Make of that what you will.

This triggered me to check mine out of interest but easy as I only need to look a the original image number set by the camera. It was around 6,400 and the 5D4 is just under 5 years old. It ceased to be my main camera about 12 months ago so not used much now. In order to check this number, I decided to look at the files in my Raw back up on my NAS. It was then I noticed that there were no back-ups after the end of November 2021. I then discovered that in LR the tick box for backing up was no longer ticked. I suspect that this happened during an update and was unknown to me so I am glad to have spotted this and corrected.

From memory the camera resets after 9999 images, so this software confirmation is quite useful once over that figure of shots
This is true but I had not taken that many frames. My earlier 5D2 went back to zero but was traded in for the 5D4. I still have my old EOS 20D which had gone round the clock but it was converted to IR many years ago and I still use it occasionally.

Its funny I tend to use my other camera mainly keeping my 5d4 for the special occasions when I want something of higher quality - I was expecting my count to be about 35,000 but it wasnt half of that which when I think of it is realistic. Now I'm moving to a R6, I might get rid of the 5d4, not totally sure yet. I love the camera and its so easy to use I just dont know

With the DSLR the shutter count was so helpful in working out how much use a camera had . Now with mirrorless things have changed. My A9 has a shutter count of 19k but if I was to guess I would say I have taken around 250k photos with it.
