Canon 5D Mkiii AF points in low light...

In low light the AF points are impossible to see....It's an old gripe, but has Canon done anything about this yet? I can\t find any way around it...
 
With the illumination turned on?

Yes. The af points don't illuminate until they've focused. In very low light, you can't see the black af point in the viewfinder, so you don't know exactly where you're focusing until it illuminates and flashes red telling you it's focused.....
 
I just sort of push the multiway controller in twice, once to swap it back to the centre and then to pop it back to where it was, obviously it lights up. Think it's an option to return the af point to the centre.
