Have been offered a canon 5d mk1, I currently use a canon 60d and wanted to know if I can use the lenses I have already or if I need specific ones cheers x

What lenses do you currently own? Canon EF ones will be fine but EF-S are meant for cropped sensors such as in your 60D, not full frame as in the 5D

Canon ef 50mm1:1.8. Canon ef 75-300mm 1:4-5.6. Then canon ef-s 18-55mm so that wont x. What would u recommend as a good replacement to the 18-55mm x

An EF 28-135 IS won't break the bank and is as good as, or better than, your existing lenses.

sell all three of them and get a 24-105mm IS. That's the cheapest sensible solution. You can keep 50mm but it is not really that good, and 75-300 is really very poor (yes 28-135 is certainly better than this, but not great either).

I would certainly keep the 50mm f1.8! F4 which I believe is the max aperture for 24-105mm can be very limiting.

What would you be photographing? Do you want a general walkabout lens, a different prime, or longer zoom? How much budget are we talking about?

50mm f1.8 is worth keeping, 18-55mm won't work and 75-300mm is a very average lens.

I'd second this, it's a great, inexpensive, very good focal range lens on full frame taking into account it won't be great in low-light situations or indoors unless using a flash.

If you can find about £300, then have a look at a Tamron 28-75 f2.8. It is a reasonable walkabout focal length, fast aperture (for a zoom) and is sharp, even wide open.
