Hi,
I'm just a regular amateur photographer (maybe even less than that...), but I have several lenses and 2 bodies: Canon 5D and 40D (both gripped).
I use the 40D for when I need more reach and for outdoor sports and I use the 5D for when I want better imaging quality.
I absolutely love my 5D because it is a bit old school and also because, since it was calibrated by Canon with my own lenses, I can always trust it focus in the right spot. It almost always nails focus with my faster lenses wide open (28 1.8, 50 1.4 and 85 1.8), even on the more demanding situations.
Now I have the option to sell them and buy a 1Ds mkII in beautifull condition, almost mint with just 21 thousand actuations.
My question is: I'll loose some reach and some other things I have with the 40D, but will I gain any image quality compared to the 5D?
Will I probably have to send it for calibration with my faster lenses? Or won't, because usually theses bodies have not only a faster focusing system but also a more accurate one?
Did you guys notice front or back focusing issues with these bodies like we found with the less professional ones?
Thank you very much.
Regards,
Luis
