I have had my 550D since Jan last year, I used the 18-55mm that came with it to start, my Dad lent me one of his lenses to get me going a bit more. This was a Sigma 28-300mm which started off fine, in around April time I noticed a yellow tinge to my pictures using that lens. I tried it on my dad's 30D and was a totally different picture. Putting it down to how the lens was fairly old along with the 30D, we thought the 550D processor didn't like the lens. He then gave me a Tamron 28-250mm to try. Again this worked well for a few days. I then kept getting the error code Err01, check contacts. This wasn't happening at every focal length though. Trying it on my dad's 30D it didn't get that error. Again as it was old we thought the 550D simply didn't like old lenses. In the summer I started to use his Canon 17-85mm, not a problem until yesterday. You wouldn't believe it but the same problem has appeared. It only errors from 17-24 and then is fine. Trying it on the 30D no issues at all.
Why would this happen?
I have cleaned the contacts too.
Could there be a fault with the 550D, typical if it as its just outside the 1year warranty now too.
