Canon 55-250 or Tamron 18-300?

I've got the 1100 with the lens it came with 18-55.

I'd like a decent zoom but do I go for an additional canon lens or replace it with a Tamron that covers what the current lens does and gives me the zoom.

Max budget is £200.

I'm guessing the canon would be better quality? But then I have to carry two lenses and change them around.

What have others done and what would you recommend?
 
I can't comment on the Tamron but you'll find plenty of support for the 55-250 Canon lens especially considering you'd get yourself the best part of a hundred quid change from your budget. I've had mine for years and it really is way better than its pricing suggests, definitely worth a look. Cheers G
 
Oh, any ideas where to look? The cheapest I've found the canon lens is £141, so less would be fab!
 
Have a look on Hdew, pretty sure they're quite cheap on there. Also don't discount used lenses too. Good luck!
