Hello,

I've been having this problem for months now.

I seem to be able to take few photos until this error crops up. It doesn't happen everytime but its getting annoying to me now.

I think the error is caused by the lens not being able to change its aperture properly. It can happen at all aperatures from what I can make out.

I have tried cleaning the contacts but still doesn't seem to go away.

Any ideas?

If it happens in AV at f/1.8 then the aperture isn't changing.

Trying looking into the lens and flicking the DOF preview button....you may see the blades sticking.

Ok the blades seem to get stuck mid exposure when I get the error (you can tell because the viewfinder is dimmed). They don't seem to stick with DOF button.

The cost of repair is probably greater than the cost new....it looks like live with it or ditch it.
