Canon 50d firmware

If you download the file from canon's website the instructions are in the exe file as a pdf together with the firmware.

Out of interest, what's in the new 50d firmware? Normally it's only Polish language support or some such, lol!
 
Faster read write times for UDMA cards and something about languages

Changes Firmware Version 1.0.8 incorporates the following improvements and fixes. 1. Improves the writing/reading speeds when using UDMA 7-compatible CF cards. 2. Fixes incorrect indications in the Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Arabic, Swedish, Spanish, Portuguese, Thai and Turkish menu screens.
 
Hmmm. Probably won't bother with that then, I have no issues with read/write times on my UDMAs and I'm pretty much mono-lingual!
 
Hi. I just yesterday downloaded the50D firmware update 1.0.8 I think it is and installed it. You just get it from the Canon website, there's a pdf that tells you what to do. Basically unzip the files, put the firmware onto your compact flash, turn your camera on, mostly it does it itself.
 
But the update appears to have little use unless you find the Arabic unreliable...
 
Hi. i started getting Err99 codes, so thought it might be time to update. So far seems to have fixed.
