:help:

I was using my 50D at the weekend and after a few shots I couldn't change the aperture setting - it came up with a 00 value and wouldn't change. I tried changing modes (Tv, P etc) but the aperture remained on 00. I did all the usual stuff like turning it on and off and taking out the battery, but it didn't help.

When I got home it worked ok for a while, and then the same thing happened.

Any ideas ?

Sounds like your lens rather than body. You dont say if you have cleaned the contacts between the lens and body.

If you can, try the lens on another camera.

what lens and body is it?

Thanks for the reply

I haven't cleaned the contacts for a while - will try that.

It's a canon 50D and the lens was the EFS 18-200 which I use as my general walkabout lens!

I'll pop the lens on a different body and see. Wasn't sure if it'd be the lens or the body !

Thanks again

the 00 aperture i get when the camera is turned on without a lens attached so thats why i am guessing a lack of communication between the body and lens or the lens.

I've just taken the lens off and turned the camera on - I see what you mean !

I'll clean the contacts and then use it and see what happens.

Many thanks again
