I have just purchased a used Canon 500mm f4 (mark I, the heavy one!).
The tripod collar is not as fluid as it should be. After removing the tripod foot and looking inside the chamber, I can see that one of the miniature bearings and screw are missing. I am looking to replace this, which will hopefully alleviate the issue. If I don’t the binding will likely worsen. The bearing is 5x7x2mm possibly 4x7x2mm. Has anyone replaced this bearing and screw? If so, where would I get them as I can’t seem to find these dimensions on any specialist bearing manufacturer website? I am aware that Canon no longer support this lens which is the reason for the question.
