Hi,
I need to take some macro shots for my wife, and was looking for a macro lens.
I was on the phone to Canon this afternoon, and they said that the best way forward was to buy a 500D 2 element macro lens/filter in 77mm for my 28-70 2.8L.
They said that at 70mm (or even 200mm with the 70-200 2.8L), that the results could be 1:1, (with 2X extender) without losing any advantage of the 'L' optics.
Cost is more than many second party 'macro' lenses, but I should end up with 'L' quality macro shots.
I found one at £99 new on Amazon, so I ordered it this afternoon.
Has anybody used one of these, and if so, any comments??
Thanks.

I think I might get one of these.....not sure if Macro is going to be my thing or not, so this is a cheap (ish) way of finding out. Looking forward to your pics!
