Canon 500 F4L IS USM Service

Hi All,

Does anyone have any recommendations for the service of a 500 F4L? I appear to have missed the boat with regard to Canon servicing it!

Just tried putting the details into Fixations site as they have a good reputation. Unfortunately it seems they no longer support the mark i version. Hope somebody can help you out.

Have a read at this thread. It’s for the 400 f2.8IS but it will be relevant for the 500 too as they are of the same generation. A few companies are mentioned.

canon 400 2.8 is - repair anyone had?

I think my connections to camera is worn ... tried with diff bodies and keep getting error 001 connection problems.... getting worse... deffo the lens.. cleaned the connections.. but still doing.. unfortunatly CPS dont cover this anymore anyone had the top end/conenctions replaced and if so...
