I have a Caon 430EZ which I was hoping to use for off camera flash. Its a nice powerful robust unit, but it goes into power saving mode after 90 seconds.
Is it possible to dissable this feature?

thanks for the reply, thats the "EX" not the "EZ" - The EZ is an older model, not capable of TTL on a modern digital.

My 430EX II has a powersae mode, but I can disable it in the custom functions. Does the 430EZ have custom functions?

Can't disable mine but as its always close I just keep pressing the test button.

Just best off getting used to pressing the trigger button if you're not shooting...it'll become second nature eventually! :)

thanks for that.
To be honest I might sell and upgrade to a 540EZ.

With the main switch in the centre position then it shouldn't enter "power save"...it should only do that if you select SE (90 seconds)

Or am I missing the point?

Bob

Do it. I have 3 540EZs and I'd love to get some more. Great units with a lot of punch at a VERY favorable price. 60-70£ on Ebay.co.uk :)

Canon Bob,

the 430EZ only has a 2 position main switch. Off or on, no alternative.
