Quick question for those more knowledgeable than myself.

When I try to charge my batteries for my Canon 40d they are coming up on the charger as full very quickly but when I put them in the camera they then run out within about 10 minutes.

This is happening with all 6 of my batteries so I don't think it is an issue with them. So I'm assuming this may be an issue with my charger?

Has anyone experienced this before?

Only had this problem with the battery when it wouldn't charge. But it was an old one. How old are yours?
Sounds like your charger is at fault if all batteries do this. get a cheapy from ebay and try it, cant loose much!

The batteries are all quite old so probably do need replacing, they have been working fine and holding a charge up until Friday when this problem first became apparent. I thought that as it seems to be happening with all the batteries the problem would possibly lie with the charger or the body.

Trying to decide whether to buy a couple of new batteries to try first or a charger (or both) I have a wedding to photograph in 2 weeks so really need to have batteries that hold longer than 10 minutes of charge.

Got a cheap charger going in the classifieds if you decide to go that way?

I had this problem a while ago, check all the little spring connections are popped up on the charger, one of mine got stuck down and the battery showed as charged very quickly
