Hi,

I recently got a 40d, and it came with a Sandisk ultra II 1.0gb card.
I want to get another card, and think 2 4gb or 1 8gb card should do for now.
After using the forum I found the my memory and 7dayshop sites.

I think the
Sandisk Extreme
http://www.mymemory.co.uk/Compact-F...-4GB-Extreme-267X-Compact-Flash-Card---40MB_s

and the Sandisk Ultra
http://www.mymemory.co.uk/Compact-F...sk-4GB-Ultra-200X-Compact-Flash-Card---30MB_s

should be absolutely fine for me, as I am just starting out

I wondered if there is much of a difference between the 2, and if so what the difference is.

I also wondered what the difference between an ultra and ultra II is and if this is something I should take into consideration before I buy (as they seem to go upto ultra IV)

I imagine that all the variables wont make a huge difference to someone like me who is just learning but it would be good to know all the same

Thanks in advance

Tom

A card is a card, it doesn't matter whether you're starting out or a pro.

To be picky, those 2 cards have different speeds, I don't think the 40d can write faster than the slowest card - so in your camera, you'll not see a difference. However you'll see a difference if you download using a USB3 card reader.

Back to real life, buy the slower one.

From these 2 cards - either will do

For the couple of ££ I'd probably opt for the extreme card
