Canon 400mm 5.6l..........lens hood stuck!

A simple question........any ideas how to free it please?

See photo to see where the hood is stuck.

Brute force and ignorance hasn't worked as of yet!!

On anything else WD40 but a bit iffy on that, perhaps a gentle warming with a hot tea towel or bean bag ( warm it up in the microwave ) or a hair dryer might help

Try warming it up next to a radiator (just be sensible), try twisting. It may free up eventually. I think wd40 may be quite bad idea in case it seeps in. The lens is not even weather sealed!

Silly question , Are you twisting in the correct direction ?

It looks like the hood is slightly tweaked on the lens. Have you tried pushing the back of the hood at the bottom of the second picture?
