Hi all and sorry if it's been posted before new here and will find my way around, the question is would you rely on it's self cleaning system.

EOS Integrated Cleaning System
For consistently pristine results, a complete dust prevention and cleaning system works to keep the EOS 400D's sensor spotless. A combination of technologies reduces, repels and removes dust and includes a Self-Cleaning Sensor Unit that shakes dust from the sensor with each power on.

or would you use one of these also what the best method for camera bodies and lenses,

Kind Regards Mark.

I have a 400D - i dont 100% rely on thte sensor clean as i have cleand the sensor 3 times in 9000 shots.
I use the sensorklear pen and although it may takes a few goes it does work.

I think the cleaning system in the 400D is naff.
I have had about 3000 shutter actions and have needed to use a blower a few times so far.

The Lenspen you've linked to does work - I've used one a couple times (although not on a 400D I have to say). If you're going to buy one I wouldn't bother paying that price from Jessops though. It's available from 7dayshop.com for much less : http://www.7dayshop.com/catalog/product_info.php?manufacturers_id=&products_id=101365

As regards the cleaning system on the 400D, I've always found it to be good and have yet to clean either of my 400D's or my 40D (which I understand has the same system). I suspect it does assume a certain amount of care on the part of the user however when changing lens.

Many thanks for the above posts, i will invest in a pen thanks for the link.

Regards Mark.
