Hi all,

I'm looking to upgrade my 7 year old Canon 30D. I've been looking at the 70D, and only today realised the 80D has been released. I usually shoot aircraft, bit of sport, and a bit of everything else. My current lenses are the 50mm f1.8 and the 70-200 f4. I was looking at the 70D with the 18-135 kit lens.

Is the difference in 19 AF points vs 45 AF points something I really need to consider? I was also looking forward to using video on the 70D, though I'm not massively impressed with the specs, 1080p/30fps max.

Anything else I should consider?

Thanks,

Colin

I recently upgraded from a 30d to a 70d and a week later the 80d came out...

I haven't yet used it for more than playing around but my initial impression is that it is light years ahead of the 30d. I don't think you would be disappointed in either but the 70d will be significantly cheaper just now.
