Ive seen locally somebody has a Canon 300v for sale with a 28-105mm lens for £25

Is it worth getting at that price? I know its a film camera but I wondered if anybody had used one?

Not used one, but it looks pretty much like all Canon film SLRs from the time - awful awful plastic. But shoots film exactly like the most expensive film Canon's (and other brands) of the day, and it is a relatively cheap way to get into film. And the lens may work on your 1000D? But I don't know much about Canon lens compatibility so I'd check that first.

Even if you purchase it for the lens, you're quids in mate. The lens go's for around £80-90 on it's own. Not sure about the camera as I'm on my iPhone so I can't tell you much about it, but I'd say go for it!

few details here - not a bad camera if you don't mind silver plastic, and as said above, the lens is worth at least double that price (in silver) or 3 times if it's a black one :)

there are 2 versions of the 28-105, the F3.5-4.5 one as said above is a very nice budget lens, the slower f4.5-5.6 version is probably barely worth the £25, but it will get you going, and work on your digi.

At THIS price what can you lose, and remember the lens can be used on later Canons.
