Hi All,

I'm trying to find a lens cover to protect the front glass in my canon 300mm f2.8L lens, has anyone come across a supplier of them or got any suggestions of what I could use ?.
The black cover provided is a little bulky so I'm just after something simple.

Cheers

Neil

Just leave the hood on! When it's not being used, my 500 sits upright on the floor (on its hood) all the time - whether it's in a hide or on the carpet at home. When in use, there is nothing getting close to the front element. Same goes for when it's being carried anywhere.

What Nick said.

I use a Lenscoat Hoodie on my 500 f4 and it's so quick and easy to take on/off. My Canon leather thingy just sits in the lens case at the bottom of my wardrobe.

Thanks for the replies chaps, looks like WEX will be getting some more of my money!.

Another vote for the lenscoat hoodie. I use one on my 600mm which I carry (mounted on a tripod) over my shoulder. The hoodie is quickly removable and you can stuff it in your pocket or inside your jacket.

What about these http://www.classickitchensandmore.com/canon-camera-300mm-f28-prime-telephoto-lens-lens-covers-rubber-p-881.html?zenid=0ce6d86e23e036dbdf822c0001467fe8

Have a look here http://www.donzecklenscap.com/. When i bought my (used) 600 F4 L IS it came with one. It is light years ahead of the Canon offering - and a number of others I have tried!
Have a look and see what you think. they are a bit pricey but the best I have encountered so far.

Another vote for the for the DON ZECK lens cap, covers my new 300mm f2.8 when i'm out and about, bit pricey but in my opinion worth it.

+1 for Don Zeck caps, have one for both my 300 and 500 L's.
