Has anybody bought one these very recently and if so, where did you get it from?

I've had one on order since 29 April and am told that Canon have supply problems with none of them in the UK. How can this be? Is it not a simple matter of putting them on a 'plane in Japan and unloading them in the UK?

Any ideas on where I can get one from within the next couple of weeks would be greatly appreciated!

www.ffordes.co.uk are listing them new and secondhand. I've been into the shop, as have a couple of other guys, and they have a good reputation, not necessarily the cheapest though.
 
Got mine from Ian (Kerso) 4 days ago. He sent mine over from the USA and took about 7 days to reach his sister Heather, who then sent it out as soon as I made payment.

Consistently fab service from him, highly recommended:thumbs:
 
Got mine fron 123fstop who deals on ebay.
 
Mine arrived from Kerso 2 days ago. About 8 days to deliver and much cheaper than UK prices. I was watching for a used one but Ian was about the same price for brand new. There seem to be supply problems through Canon UK on them...
 
I'm pretty sure that Norfolk Camera Centre in Dereham had one in the window a couple of weeks ago.........along with a 400 2.8 and the 800 5.6 among other goodies!
 
Yep, think they have, well they did about a week ago, when I went up to Dereham.

Mine cost £2,450 from Kerso. The £400 saving was too much to ignore..got the Gitzo tripod almost with the money I saved..

Super super lens thats being sold by some shops for circa £3,100:gag:

The build quality and IQ is superb. Justifies the price tag IMHO :thumbs:

Warehouse Express have just increased the price of one, from £2,848 to £3,094 :gag:

Whats more, they're still on backorder, with no date when these will be arriving..

Glad I got mine from Kerso. £2,450 now seems a bargain! :D
 
Kerso is your best bet for a 300 2.8, he`s cheaper than all uk shops I know of and you always get the best service.
