Anyone with this lens have any issues? mine has been faultless for the past 5 years, but following a visit to watch classic bike racing, its developed a fault. When focusing with the is set to 1, the image in the view finder jumps about like crazy, its not there with the is off, but focusing is much slower.
Also, the body being used at the time , a 400d, will now not focus. I was close to the track, and there was a lot off vibration to be felt, and all bikes were using transponders.
Canon want £60 / hour labour+parts+vat to sort out the lens, and a fixed price for the 400d which is £140.
My mates had similiar problems, one with a 5d/24-105 Lis, the other with a 550d / 70-300.
Any ideas folks?
