I know this sounds like a strange comparison. But is it fair to expect a similar level of sharpness from these two lenses?

The thing is, I've heard that the 24-70 is incredibly sharp. But at the moment my nifty fifty blows it right away. I know it's a prime, so will always have the edge, but it's a £1000 lens vs a £70 lens. Am I not right to expect more from it?

If someone has these two lenses, I'd love to hear your opinion.

Thanks.

They're not terribly scientific yet (haven't had the time). But I think every other lens in my kit has given me sharper shots.

You're right, it's completely knackered and unfortunately they're also uneconomic to repair. I'll offer you £50 for it though :D

Seriously they look OK to me.
