Canon 1dx2 and Sandisc card corruption issue?

Saw this in DR (I couldn't see this mentioned here via the search)

It seems Canon have acknowledged an issue with the 1dx2 and Sandisc cards that corrupts the card. Useful info to anyone using that combo - be aware!

Although reading further the issue is with Sandisc and not Canon, check your card numbers!

Hmmmm makes me wonder as when I got my 80D and started using it I got a corrupt card message come up when I tried to download to my I.mac ,it actually turned out to be that I needed to upgrade my p.p to Lightroom cc .could be something as simple as that

Just listened to the Petapixel podcast and they had a bit on it. There's due to be a fix released in the next month but in the meantime the workaround is after you've finished the shots that you must have on the card, fire a few more off on the end of them. This apparently will sort it until they release the necessary firmware fix.
