My canon 1dx is nearly 10 yrs old.. It was released in March 2012 and mine was on pre order.. cant remeber exactly when i got it... Its done 1.2 million actuations as a sports camera. Its had one shutter replacement at around 500k as a precaution not because it went.. so its got 700k on top of that

Its still producing the goods.. took this tonight using a canon 400 2.8 L mk1 at ISO 25600 f2.8 and a 800 ss .. Looks good at 2000 pixels wide and thats what i will sell it as :)

That's an impressive bunch of stats. My 1dx2 is 6 years old; is till going strong but I think it needs a service when the NBL season ends as it has missed focus a few times in situations where it wouldn't normally; of course it could be me . :D

Agreed - the pro bodies really do age well. I loved my D3S, it was brilliant and could easily do the job again now.

I enjoyed my brief time with the 1dx, I have a ii now and it's superb. I can't see it being out done for a long time. Same with my D5 - simply superb cameras - heavy and loud, but I love both of them.

Loved my 1DXM2 too.... only reason to replace it was the better AF for what I need with the new mirrorless versions.

I have the 1dxmk2 as well but the 70-200 was on that.. It doesnt get on with my 400 as well as the 1dx does.. I am thinking because its the older mk1 400 ?

I wonder why that might be... the 400 2.8 on the R5 and face tracking (when you have the correct face locked in which is not always easy) is virtually 100% hit rate.

Right.. thats the 400 mk1 ? IS .... It might mean i need to have it calibrated then.. i thought maybe newer camera older lend as the 400 is pin sharp on the 1dx as you can see.. the 70-200 mkii is pin sharp on the 1dx2 so i put two and two together hmmm

The 1Ds II was a very useful camera too but I grew tired of its weight.

It's a very well used MkII. Did you try the AF adjustment in the 1DXM2? Is it sharp using Liveview?

In another thread, high ISO came up and I had a feeling that a couple of Nikons now got up into the MILLIONS! OK, image quality isn't great but just the idea of it boggles my mind! [oldfart]I can remember when 3200ASA was a stretch and usually gave grain the size of golf balls![/oldfart] Back then, action shots were rare for some reason!

Not to take your thread.. but I'm a big advocate and enjoy using really old digicams.. few from a morning stroll for a coffee this morning with my Fuji S1 (circa 2000 ) and Nikkor 28-200 DSCF0022.jpegDSCF0019.jpegDSCF0027.jpeg (circa 2000)

I loved my 1Dx I had it for 5 years and used it for weddings and events. I'm now with Sony A9 but there are things I still miss about the 1DX. If I could wave a magic wand I will still be with Canon because that R3 looks very nice. Too much invested in Sony and their gear is getting better and better. The new Sony 70-200 f2.8 GM mkii is a stunning lens.
