Hi everyone,

I'm looking to buy the Canon 1200d and most come with a lens kit. There seems to be two slightly different lenses that the camera is bundled with and i'm wondering which one to get (i'm new to all this).

The two lenses are below which look the same to me but maybe there's a slight difference.

EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 III

18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II Lens Kit

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, any recommendations for a second lens for this camera would be great as well.

Thanks!

The mk3 is simply a newer version of the same lens. I'd go for that one.

Edit - I've just seen that the mk3 doesn't have IS (image stabilisation). If thats the case, personally I'd prefer the mk2 with IS.

Thanks everyone for your help. I'm going for the mark 2 lens. Going to start shopping around for a second lens now as well.
