canon 1100d mic?

hi guys in a media student so i want to use my canon 1100d for film as well as photography however i failed to notice it doesn't have a mic port, is there anyway i can attatch a mic via hotshoe or anyother way?

you may have to record sound on a separate device and sync in post processing (clap on screen)

Nope. No ext mic socket.... so no ext mic, sorry.
