Canon 1000d Memory card

Hi all, a friend is starting out with a Canon 1000d

What sort of card should he get, is there any point in getting a fast card?

ive got 1000d all i use is a 2gb high speed,i find it quite adequate.

If he is going to be shooting RAW he will need at least 4 gb for a days shooting.
With regards to speed, it really only affects the buffer on the camera and transfer rate onto a hdd.
His best bet is to stick with Scandisc or similar and I have found Amazon to be excellent as there are nearly offers if you look.
