Canon 100-400 Clarity.

I currently have a Canon 100-400L and a Canon 70-200L f/2.8 mk2

I am finding the clarity on the 100-400 is much poorer than the 70-200, i know its a cheaper lens, but surely there should not be that much difference.

Has anyone else had noticed this ? or does my 100-400 need some attention ?

I think you are asking a lot from your 100-400 comparing it with the 70-200mk2, that mk2 is the sharpest zooms I have ever used.I would say your 100-400 is fine you just got something that is like a prime.

I agree, I have both these lenses and the 100-400 is sharp but not nearly as sharp as the MkII. Colours are better on the MkII as is the focus speed.

Thank you for the responses, i just wanted to check, and it wasn't just mine. Still a great lens, shame its not as sharp, i think an upgrade may be in order
