Canon 1 DXii firmware

Do you know if you can update firmware 1.0.0 to 1.1.6.There is a camera in our local shop in mint condition but had the early firmware installed.Some of my sports photographer mate said that firmware had problems with sandisk CF fast cards

Firstly, FWIW I used to update my Canon bodies 40D, 7D & 5Dmk3 using a CF card as detailed in the Canon update instructions.

In regard to the 1DXii I looked it up and it seems it will take both CF & CF Fast cards.

If there are issues with CF Fast perhaps just use CF cards???

the issue with sandisk cf cards is detailed in the firmware description in the link above - solved by v 1.0.2

I have now read the change log.......

Based on that, my initial thought as above was to use a CF for the update as the change log IIRC only refers to issues with a specific list of CF Fast cards.
