Hi,

I mostly process my work on my main home PC running LR5, sometimes i'll use my laptop running the same version to process. I always move my originals back from the laptop to my PC but leave the LR modifications on my laptop.

Is there a way i can merge effectively the catalog from my Laptop version of LR with my PC ?

In case i ever go back to a project it would be great to have the polished version of my work available in LR on my PC so I'm not constantly juggling between the two devices. I'd retain the folder structure consistency between the 2 so it should be able to locate the raw files.

If not possible can anyone see another workaround ?

TIA,
Mike.

If I understand the question correctly, its dead easy. Just copy the laptop catalog over to your PC. Then from within LR on your PC click File > Import from another catalog. Find the laptop catalog that you just copied over and you're away. I do this all the time after I'm away on a travel assignment. As you've pointed out, the main thing is to keep your folder structure exactly the same for the original files.

Great stuff David - i'll take a backup first but i presume the catlog's just merge into one new catolog and all the changes are visible in my PC version of lightroom :)

Just about to do this - so to confirm i can simply import catalogue files between devices so effectively they become 'synced' even if all images might not exist on both devices. Presume LR will simply point out they are not present if i inadvertently try and open a folder not populated.
