Hi folks!

As we have been unsuccessful with The Sun's £9.50 holiday offer, we are looking for somewhere to go for a short break!!

There will be 2 families .... 1 family with 1 baby (aged 8months at the time), and 1 family with a 3 yr old and a 1yr old.

(7 people altogether).

We're looking to go Lake District / Derbyshire / Whitby . ..... or anywhere within a few hours travelling of Manchester.

Dates of holiday - anytime between Oct 25 and Oct 31st. We are teachers so these dates are not flexible.

Just wondering if anyone can recommend anywhere nice - we fancy a cottage / caravan type thing - so if anyone owns one and would like to hire it out .... please contact me.

You may find accommodation in or near Whitby quite hard to come by that week as Whitby Gothic Weekend takes place on 31st October and 1st November. Typically every B&B and hotel room, caravan pitch, cottage and bus shelter for miles around is booked up well in advance for WGW and for many days either side. On the other hand, if the recession is biting even deeper than the Count, the goths may be delaying booking.
