Can we have one thread that announces the theme? And make it sticky?!

It's getting pretty tricky to find the theme each week as it's announced in a new thread each time which gets lost in all the new posts....

... so could the new theme just be a new post to the same thread each week?! And to make it even easier, could it be made sticky?
 
Maybe keep the post locked too so you don't have to trawle through loads of peoples comments before you get to the next theme
 
I might be on my own here... but I kind of enjoy the irraticness of it! Plus, I like giving out to simon when he pulls a rubbish theme, even if it's not his fault :lol:
 
OK I'll admit to being slightly confused

The weekly announcement threads are easy to find they are in the Competition, Challenges and inspiration section which is are in a different part of the forum to where you post the images.

Given the rate of posting in the Competition, Challenges and Inspiration section I can guarantee that you'll always find the latest week's theme near the top of the section.

Given that a sticky is there to make sure people see important posts which will drop off the first page too quickly I'm not sure of what the benefits would be.

The benefits to having a separate theme is primarily to collate all the discussion about the current theme together. If we had a single thread, after a couple of weeks the thread will be 10's of pages long and hard to read.

Plus making a sticky requires mod rights, we would need this doing at least twice during the year as threads stop being editable after 6 months and I think they've got enough to do as it is. If it was locked I'd need a mod to lock and unlock the thread each week so I could post the new theme.

Let's give it a few weeks and then I'll post a thread with a poll to find out which people prefer i.e. to keep going with separate threads each week or go for 1 thread and update that weekly. I will go for the majority vote.
 
It might be that I was getting confused myself... I hadn't realised that the theme thread is in a different section so I've been trawling through the photo section looking for it. :bonk:

Should be easier to find now that I know where it is!
