Yes
when i use the transform tool in CS2 and adjust the picture, when i then put a canvas around it, the canvas will only cover 3 sides, bloody annoying it is.
thanx

Can't replicate it Steve. When I expand canvas, ensuring arrows are all around central box, it works fine. What actual transformation action are you taking ? If worse comes to worse, if you have Netmeeting running you can show me in real time ;)

hi dave,
ok, i open a picture, i had the guides 'on' set to 3rd's so my pictures are quite balanced, in order to move/adjust the picture slightly this way or that, i use the Crt T key (transform), i adjust the picture then either double click or tick the arrow.
OK, so now i want a bigger canvas size, open the canvas menu, type in the 2cm black(usually) size increase, but the black only covers 3 sides of the picture, the side i had adjusted/moved doesn't get any extra size at all, whats going on..

this might be a silly question but when you open the canvas dialogue box have you highlighted the central box and not one of the ones at the top or bottom of the selection?

hi marianne
yes the right box is ticked, its just the adjusted side that nothing happens with.

hmm I dunno and I use this function a lot...I will put my thinking cap on

only thing I can think of is the original picture layer gets offset (left/right/top/bottom) during the move then when u enlarge the canvas you see the content you "moved"

Think of it like a painting being viewed through a window. Transform/move etc changes the painting wheras canvas size changes the window. So if you offset the painting to the right then make the window larger you'll see more of the painting at the right.

Sorry, I think that's clear as mud.

Try this: -

New Document - 640 x 480
Draw a rectangle that fills the image
Move the rectangle left, right, up or down
Resize your canvas to 800x600
Notice you can now see all the rectangle again? (at least u will if you haven't moved it far)

/me shrugs.

Maybe I've misunderstood.

Think it was answered in another of Boons threads, where flattening layers should solve probs (due to probs described by OP above).......come on Steve, let us know....did it work ?
