My father has sent me this shot and has asked if I can get it transfered to canvas.

Its a noisy little Jpeg and I have warned him that the results might not be great.

My PP skills are pretty rubbish and I'd really appriciate any suggestions on getting the best out of it, its a shot of my mother with their dogs so it has sentimental value and he's quite proud of it so I want to do it justice if I can. I'll probably get it done at Togsprint when it is printed.

If anyone has the time I'm more than happy for it to be mucked about with and re posted here.

did a little straightening, sharpening and removed a few "blobs"
cropped to lose the flare and put the horizon near a 1/3rd

try sticking it through something like noise ninja too, that should help - or at least give you the option

Dee, that's Fresh West the beach we went to on the first camping meet :D

Oddly enough my parents have just aquired another standard poodle so the shot is now a bit out of date but considering its shot on a SONY camcorder in photo mode it is pretty good work from father whos knowledge of photography ended when he gave me his old Praktica MTL5 :D

This is one thing I enjoy doing I opened your JPG in ACR made a few adjustments to the colour (Sat - orange -11 yellow +66 green +79 Lumi - yellow +5 green +2) and healed the flair straighten the horizon did a bit of colour (98) and Luminance (95) reduction. Curve of lights -23, Upped the Clarity to +65 Vibrancy to +40 with a little post crop vignette of -24 mid point 50 feather 50
I opened it into CS4 as a tiff at 2023 by 1517 (3.1MP)
In CS4 I up the size a bit more to 2880x2160 with Bicubic smoother this will give a 12x9 at 240 PPI
I hope you like my adjustments

It needs to be hosted somewhere like flickr or imageshack.us then you'll be able to post a link or get it to appear in the thread using tags (the little picture of a landscape in the tool bar above where you type.
