I was wondering if I can put Muesli out for the birds or more to the point whether it's OK for them to have. I seem to recall somebody saying raisens weren't good for them but they're easy to pick out if that's the case.

I've a big container of the stuff which isn't going to be eaten so I'd thought about mixing it in with melted lard instead of the bird seed.

Raisins are a great food so do not throw them away. If the muesli contains salt it should be avoided. If you are melting lard into it which is a good idea, make sure it is not so hot as to fry the seed etc.

I played safe as I was worried about the large bits so I 'blended' the whole lot into a fine mix.

WOW - they're going mad for it.

I'm sure I have seen muesli in some of the prepared bird food and fat balls, so should be absolutely OK.

Where are the pics of the feeding frenzy?

There's some Robin pics in the bird section - they loved it....
